Our South African team brings over 50 years of collective experience in the travel industry. Led by Nic Turpin, our South African Director, and Chase Wells, our Managing Pilot—both with decades of flying experience in Africa—the team offers unmatched knowledge of the best safari regions across the continent. Caroline Henning ensures exceptional service by fostering relationships with top safari suppliers, guaranteeing every traveler a truly life-changing adventure.
From Dallas, our North American team, Nick and Shelby Lamon, specialize in creating seamless safari experiences for travelers across the U.S. and Canada. Their love for Africa, ignited during their engagement in East Africa in 2015, is reflected in their attention to detail and dedication. With strong partnerships in the travel industry, including top rated airlines and hoteliers, they ensure travelers are supported every step of the way.

Chase Wells
Managing Pilot
Chase’s passion for the bush began at a young age, when he was first flown into the Okavango at the age of 6 months old. He was fortunate enough to spend most school vacations and weekends traveling to remote areas in Africa.
This passion first became Chase’s career when he began flying for Wilderness in Botswana. After 3 years of bush flying, Chase wanted to expand his knowledge and areas of travel, and began with the SafariScapes team in 2018. Chase now designs safaris, guides and pilots our private safari trips.
Caroline Henning
Partnership Architect
Caro was born in Johannesburg and raised in Cape Town. She recently moved back to the Cape with her husband and two daughters, where they now live on an apple farm in the picturesque Elgin Valley.
After backpacking around the world for a year and a half and then living in Malawi for two years Caro’s passion for travel was cemented. Two of her biggest passions are conservation and sustainable travel. She joined the SafariScapes team in 2018 and loves putting together the finer details of clients itineraries and seeing how deeply affected people are by traveling to Africa and experiencing their first safari.
Nick Lamon
Director of Operations USA
Nick Lamon is the Director of SafariScapes in the USA renowned for curating unforgettable adventure travel experiences. With a deep-seated passion for exploring the world, Nick combines his love for travel with an enthusiasm for staying active and capturing stunning photography.
Transitioning from an engineering background, he adeptly applies his analytical and logistical skills to meticulously plan and execute seamless travel arrangements. Nick’s unique blend of technical expertise and adventurous spirit ensures that every journey he orchestrates is both exhilarating and flawlessly executed.
Nic Turpin
Director of Operations South Africa
Nic Turpin’s story is one of pure passion and unwavering dedication for the beautiful continent of Africa. From the moment he first took flight-exploring the vast landscapes of Botswana, Nic knew that his heart belonged in the sky and amongst the bush of Africa. His love for piloting private planes and immersing himself in the wonders of the African wilderness fuelled his desire to share these experiences with others. Nic opened up SafariScapes with his team on the ground in America and the rest is history.
Nic has always had a passion and appreciation for the bush and its conservation. He loves to travel and experience Africa while using his in-depth understanding of wildlife and love for birds and nature to enhance the experience for those traveling with him. With each adventure, Nic’s love for what he does touches the hearts of everyone who gets to experience to beauty that is Africa.
Shelby Lamon
Director of Sales and Marketing
Meet Shelby, one of the US founders of SafariScapes. Shelby’s love for traveling started very young but her love for Africa took that love and passion to a new level after her first time stepping foot on the continent. Shelby is a globetrotting entrepreneur with a passion for wildlife, people, and photography.
Through SafariScapes, Shelby curates unique adventures that blend her love for wildlife and beautiful destinations with ethical wildlife tourism. Shelby got her degree in film and television and now spends her days and nights telling stories through travel, photography and customized itineraries to Africa! Her energy for the wildlife and conservation throughout all of Africa is what makes every day at SafariScapes feel like a dream come true to call her job! Shelby cannot wait to show you her home away from home – Africa awaits your arrival!
Riley Harness
